Money Magnet

Privacy notice

Updated 2 November 2026

Money Magnet keeps your money details so it can run your own budget, and for nothing else. Nothing is sold, there are no ads, and nothing tracks you.

What the app keeps

  • Your login: your email, your name and a profile photo if you add one. Your password is stored scrambled by the login service; no one can read it.
  • Your money details: accounts and balances, card settings, income, bills, spending with its notes, budgets, savings funds and goals, installments, and account logos.
  • Your settings: paydays and how you split your income. Light or dark mode and hidden amounts stay on your device only.
  • Reminders: on the phone app, bill, payday and check-in reminders are scheduled on your phone itself. Nothing about them is sent anywhere, and each kind has its own switch.
  • Payslips: when you read one, only its amounts are kept. The PDF file itself and any ID numbers on it are not.

If you join the waitlist

The waitlist keeps your email, which phone you use, how you track your money now and any note you leave. Your email is only used to say you're on the list, then to tell you when the beta opens and when the app launches, nothing else, and it is never shared or sold. Your answers help decide what to build first. They are kept until the app launches and for six months after, then deleted, unless you make an account. To be taken off sooner, write to hello@themoneymagnet.app and it is removed straight away.

Who sees it

Only you. If you share a card with someone, or borrow theirs, they see that card, its limit and the charges on it, and nothing else of yours. The person who runs the app can reach the database to fix problems, and only does so when needed.

Where it is kept

Two services hold and run it for us, both in Singapore: Supabase (the database, logins and photos) and Vercel (which runs the app). Emails from the app, like confirming your email or resetting your password, are sent by Resend in Japan, which only sees your email address and the message. Mail you send to our address is passed on by ImprovMX. They all only store and process it on our behalf. Everything travels encrypted, and each person's records are locked to their own login inside the database.

Cookies and your device

One cookie keeps you signed in. Your device also remembers a few choices, like dark mode. There are no advertising or tracking cookies.

How long it is kept

Until you delete it. You can delete any entry yourself at any time, or delete your whole account, which removes everything in it straight away. If you shared or borrowed a card, the other person keeps what their own numbers need, your charges on their card and any paybacks, under “Deleted user” with no name or email. Copies in the database's backups are gone within 30 days.

Your rights

Under the Data Privacy Act of 2012 you can see, correct, download and delete your information:

  • Download it: Settings, then Export CSV, gives you every entry, bill and goal.
  • Correct or delete it: edit or delete anything in the app.
  • Delete your account: Settings, then Delete account, removes your login and everything in it.

If you think your information has been mishandled, you can also complain to the National Privacy Commission.

Changes

New features that need more information, such as AI summaries, notifications or reading bank texts, will be added here before they start. When something important changes, the app tells you and asks you to agree again.
